Tenada

Tenada vineyard

The Tenade vineyard, in Premaor di Miane, was acquired by our family in 1998, but the vines were planted in the mid-1980s.

The vineyard is very regular, with southern exposure and rows running east-west.

The slope is steep, featuring terraced rows, with vines trained 100% using the Doppio Capovolto system.

The soil is of morainic origin, formed by the Lapisino branch of the great Piave glacier (as is the entire Premaor-Combai-Miane area) and is characterized by an abundance of stratified rocks and salìs (sandstone and marl). These are non-deep soils with a high limestone content.

These emerged lands are rich in fossils, a testament to their past submerged beneath vast oceans, which now imbue the wines with remarkable freshness and minerality.

Due to the low clay content, this soil does not have high water retention. However, the greater abundance of rainfall (due to our slightly higher altitude and proximity to the pre-Alpine barrier) prevents water stress and actually encourages more lush vegetation.

Average temperatures in this area are slightly lower, which leads to later ripening; indeed, this is always the last vineyard to be harvested.

The base wines produced from this vineyard are always easily distinguishable by their greater freshness and more floral scents, which differ from the more fruity notes of the Colbertaldo and Valdobbiadene areas.
