Our Company, the story of a Family
Story
Valter and Maria Virginia laid the foundations and reinforced the walls, Andrea and Matteo keep on working brick by brick, to build a modern reality but with a strong bond with their land.
We were born as a farm, which over time has believed in viticulture and in making wines that respect and reflect their origins. Traditional wines but also modern and fresh visions.
We love our work, we live it as a family and with this perspective we aim for the future.
Philosophy
Our wines are born from the grapes we grow, because we want to know every step that brings our bottles to your tables. We want to guarantee a balanced production process with minimal impact, because respect for the territory must be cultivated with one's own hands.
We believe in short supply chains, where the consumer can interface directly with the producer, and we know how to surround ourselves with collaborators who embrace our philosophy.
We promote hospitality, because having people with us in the cellar and in the vineyard is the best opportunity we have to let our reality be touched by hand, so we can explain with our words and our wines the passion that binds us to this territory.
A new identity

A symbol must represent something specific, something that defines our identity.
Our logo represents the Miotto family, enclosing the initials of our names.
Individual people who bring their own unique characteristics to the company project. Each of us puts our personal vocations at the service of the others to grow together, to improve, to express our passion to the fullest, and to put our faces on every bottle we sign.
V > VALTER
Valter Miotto is the one who brought the winery as we know it today into existence. Born in 1955, he grew up in the countryside and dedicated all his passion to working in the barn, the fields, and the vineyards.
Through his dedication and industriousness, he grew the business step by step. He distinguished himself as a self-taught winemaker, crafting wines that earned respect and esteem, and has always been committed to the collective promotion of our territory.
A tireless worker, always among the vines, he successfully passed the baton to his children while remaining the firm anchor around which everything revolves.
M + V > Maria Virginia
Maria Virginia has been by Valter’s side since 1979, accompanying him in his work, in managing the family, and in customer relations.
Anyone who has ever visited us has been welcomed by her smile, her hospitality, and the now-famous homemade biscuits she shares with our guests.
She has always dedicated her time to family and others, working tirelessly to preserve our identity and traditions.
As in all families, the women are the true guides. Her nickname, by which everyone knows her, is "Superiora" (The Mother Superior), a playful reference to her central role in the Miotto family.
M > MATTEO
Matteo Miotto has always been the family innovator. Meticulous in management and precise in vineyard work, he is always able to reinvent himself and introduce improvements to our work organization, setting the pace and rhythms of our operations.
Tireless, he dedicates himself to every task necessary: from the vineyard, where he is taking the reins from Valter, to managing the machinery in the cellar and workshop. His 360-degree view allows him to keep a watchful eye both inside and outside the company.
Though seemingly introverted and serious, he is actually an excellent ambassador for Cantina Miotto when it comes to welcoming clients and visitors.
A > ANDREA
Andrea Miotto is the winery’s oenologist. He has always been focused on the obsessive care of our base wines and fermentations, seeking to transfer the diverse identities of the Conegliano and Valdobbiadene terroir—which he loves viscerally—into every bottle.
Within the company, he also manages the commercial and administrative side, sacrificing some of the precious time in the vineyard that Valter inspired in him.
He studied viticulture and oenology and has been involved in the winery since he was very young, supplementing his experience with work abroad to satisfy his deep oenological curiosity.
His commitment extends beyond the winery; like the rest of the family, he is active in promoting the region as a member of numerous local associations.
His histrionic and outgoing character makes cellar visits engaging and truly immersive.
The New Generations
Today, the Miotto family is built upon these four founding figures: Valter, Maria Virginia, Matteo, and Andrea. However, new generations are on the way: Giorgia, Alessandro, Maddalena, and Filippo.
Who knows? Perhaps the continuity of our family in the world of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco will pass through them, as they inherit the passion of those who came before.
V + A > VITICOLTORI ARTIGIANI
For us, winemaking is not an industrial process: it is a journey that begins in the vineyard, passes through the skills of the winegrower, and is refined in the cellar. It is a supply chain where craftsmanship and the human approach must always be the true protagonists to guarantee uniqueness of taste and respect for the land.
Affiliations
The promotion and enhancement of our work and territory are factors that we consider fundamental. We know that the best result is that of a team, where discussion and sharing of ideas allow us to grow together and to amplify our work.
This is why we are associated with the Consorzio di Tutela del Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, to defend and promote this territory which is a World Heritage Site and these wines that we love.
For the same reason we are part of FIVI, the Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers, because the role of the farmer is important and we believe that the direct relationship between producer and consumer is a value that must be protected.
We are therefore part of the Independent Winegrowers of Treviso, to live the values of FIVI in the specificities of our land, concentrating with many producer friends on a path of continuous growth.
